Rental requirements? All drivers must present a valid driver's license, cash deposit or a valid credit card in their own name. Insurance is required on all our vehicle reservations. We provide insurance for a fee for those renters that do not carry full cover insurance protection for their rental vehicle.
How old do I have to be to rent a vehicle? You need to be 25 years of age in order to rent a vehicle from International Car Rentals and have a good driving record. We can however allow under age drivers (21 to 24) subject to additional charges.
Traffic Tickets The renter is responsible for all parking, traffic, speeding or other tickets or violations issued while the vehicle is being rented and must pay for any fees, penalties, towing charges, or impound costs.
What if I need to cancel my reservation? There is a cancellation fee on all reservations cancelled prior to 48 hours of the reserved pick-up date and time. Reservations cancelled 48 hours or less to the reserved pick up date and time may be penalized up to a one day charge fee.
Mileage All rentals include unlimited miles free per day.
Do you require a credit card to rent a vehicle? We accept Cash, Visa, MasterCard and American Express. You must present a valid credit card in the renter's name at the time of the rental or pay in cash. For those paying with a credit card, an authorization approval will be requested prior to the rental to be used as a deposit. This is only an authorization, and not a charge. The authorization amounts range depending on the type of vehicle.
Additional drivers? Additional drivers are allowed for a small fee as long as they meet the same requirements as the primary renter.
Do you offer airport service? Yes, we can arrange shuttle, delivery and collection of the rental vehicle to any point of entry or exit on Tortola.
Do you deliver the rental vehicle? Yes, we deliver the vehicle anywhere on Tortola for your convenience.
Is smoking permitted in the vehicles? No, we do not allow smoking in our vehicles. A cleaning charge may apply if this policy is violated.
What is the your fuel policy? All vehicles need to be returned with the same amount of fuel as when they were picked up. Otherwise, a fuel charge will be applied to your rental contract. All our vehicles require Premium fuel recommended by the manufacturer. You will be responsible for damage caused to the engine by not using the recommended fuel by the manufacturer.
If I get into an accident, what should I do? First, get medical attention if needed. Secondly, for your own protection and insurance purposes, call the police and file a police report. Then, contact us as soon as possible so that we can advise you what to do next.
If my vehicle breaks down, what should I do? Since most of our vehicles are new or late models and well maintained, it is unlikely that a breakdown will occur. However, if a breakdown does occur, call us right away and we will take care of it. Do not do any repairs to the vehicle without authorization from International Car Rentals.
